Poverty-striken children are one of the most vulnerable groups in South Africa, especially during the COVID-19 lockdown. Since schools have been forced to close, many children no longer have access to the the National Schools feeding scheme. This project gives children one meal a day, and for the majority of the children who recieve this it is their sole source of nutrition.

To help address this, Tintswalo Lodges has launched its #TintswaloCares campaign and is supporting the ‘Cans with Purpose’ initiative.

Friends of Tintswalo is a non-profit company that was founded to provide financial support to various charities. Each Tintswalo Lodge is connected to a specific beneficiary, ranging from rhino, wild dog and shark conservation projects, to community support programmes, and now – the ‘Cans with Purpose’ initiative.

Tintswalo encourages its friends and fellow South Africans to donate to this worthy cause, which can help save lives. Monetary donations can be made via the Afrika Tikkun organization, which is assisting more than 9,000 children and their families in need with food and care packs.
