Following an extended pause in activity across its properties for the first time in its 50-year history, Tsogo Sun Hotels is back open for business.

Officially reopening its doors on 10 June, Tsogo has rolled out an extensive set of measures across its properties to prioritise the safety of all guests and staff. In line with regulations, staff have been provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) and training on COVID-19 hygiene protocols and preventative measures. This encompasses how rooms and public areas are cleaned and disinfected, as well as the preparation and serving of food.

Tsogo has rolled out an extensive set of measures across its properties to prioritise the safety of all guests and staff.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly dictated a new way of life, which the Group has embraced, beginning with the check-in process, where guests will have their temperatures checked along with mandatory hand sanitising while adhering to the 1.5m social distancing rule,” comments Marcel von Aulock, CEO of Tsogo Sun Hotels.

Currently, under the level 3 lockdown protocols, only business travel is permitted and Tsogo Sun is enticing guests with attractive room rates from just R699 in Cape Town, R850 in Johannesburg and R895 in Durban (inclusive of breakfast).

“[W]e are able to welcome our business travellers back to a new kind of experience that prioritizes their safety alongside our renowned hospitality.”

“As a result of the less stringent restrictions in Level 3, we are able to welcome our business travellers back to a new kind of experience that prioritizes their safety alongside our renowned hospitality,” says von Aulock.

With a portfolio of more than 100 hotels across a range of accommodation offerings and 250 conferencing and banqueting facilities in South Africa, Africa, the Seychelles and the Middle East, Tsogo Sun Hotels is a leading hospitality organisation. After reporting significant losses for its full year ending March 2020, Tsogo Sun Hotel’s reopening is a welcome relief for the group.
