Sun City’s Valley of Waves will reopen on 23 September 2020, making it a possible destination for those South Africans seeking a long weekend escape.“The Valley of Waves is one of our most popular attractions, so we’re delighted that we can open it in time for Heritage Day. We have been inundated with enquiries from people wanting to know when it will reopen,” says Sun City General Manager Brett Hoppé. The popular attraction remained closed when the rest of Sun City re-opened on 02 September due to a maintenance upgrade of the wave generating mechanisms. These are responsible for creating the 6-foot swells that are ideal for surfing, and which taper off over 120 meters onto a sandy beach.
“The Valley of Waves is one of our most popular attractions, so we’re delighted that we can open it in time for Heritage Day.”The Valley of the Waves will operate normally between 9am and 6pm on Wednesday, 23 September and Sunday, 27 September. From Thursday, 24 September (Heritage Day) to Saturday, 26 September however, it will be open from 9am to 5pm, and when will reopen from 6pm to 9pm for the exclusive use of hotel guests and Sun Vacation Club residents. Hoppé adds that more exciting news will be shared soon.
