On the back of several successful mergers and acquisitions of companies within the meeting and events software space in 2021, MeetingPlay and Aventri have announced that they will be consolidating their respective offerings into one entity.

There is a clear appetite among investors and owners of eventing software companies with yet another merger taking place – this time, between MeetingPlay and Aventri.

A growth equity investment from Sunstone Partners and Camden Partners also forms part of the deal.

“This new event software powerhouse will blend visionary technology and best-in-class service to close all gaps in the planning process, offering the most complete full-service solution for meetings and events of all sizes, from conferences of 200,000+ to meetings with less than 100 attendees. The combined company will become one of the world’s largest event technology companies, servicing customers on a global scale,” it was noted in an official release on MeetingPlay’s website.

Meanwhile, Eric Lochner has been named CEO of the new entity. Eric brings more than 25 years of experience in the development of technology and the creation and provision of technology-enabled services companies.

“We are excited to bring these two inventive companies together to create a new cutting-edge experience for the meetings and events industry… We have a strong opportunity to deepen the process of hosting in-person, hybrid and virtual events and are excited to be able to better support meeting planners and event organisers while offering a wider range of products and experiences,” says Eric.
